NFL Hall of Famer Darrell Green to Headline “A Day With Heroes” Honoring Medal of Honor Recipients, Gold Star Families, and Military Veterans
Vienna, VA – [Insert Release Date] – The Veteran Success Resource Group (VSRG), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, announced today that BDO will return as Presenting Sponsor for the 2025 Heroes and Legends Charity Golf Classic, taking place on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Westwood Country Club in Vienna, Virginia.
Now in its third year, the Heroes and Legends Classic is more than a tournament — it is a mission-focused event that unites military heroes, professional athletes, civic leaders, and patriotic supporters for a powerful day of remembrance, unity, and purpose.
The 2025 tournament will feature:
- NFL Hall of Famer Darrell Green serving as this year’s Legends Captain
- A live parachute jump to kick off the event
- Full-scale military activations, including working dogs, tactical vehicles, and interactive static displays
- A moving September 11 tribute, honoring both Gold Star families and the families of 9/11 victims
- Special guests including Medal of Honor recipients, Purple Heart and Silver Star honorees, military spouses, and distinguished veterans from across the country
“Heroes and Legends is not just a day of golf,” said Scott Davidson, Founder of VSRG. “It’s a platform to honor those who have sacrificed, connect them with their communities, and raise critical funds to support their futures.”
Since its inception, the tournament has raised over $450,000, directly funding VSRG’s impact-driven programs, including:
- Military Family Markets, which have fed and clothed over 500 enlisted families facing hardship
- Bourbiz, the national veteran empowerment and resource expo that has connected more than 18,000 veterans to career opportunities, benefits, and support services
- Battle of the Branches, a separate, VSRG-hosted interservice competition focused on mental health and physical fitness for veterans and their families, held each fall and supported by proceeds from this tournament
